Chat as action
Tell the app assistant in Camera what you want, e.g. “who clocked in today”, “any unhandled security alerts”, “add a camera at 192.168.0.100”, “playback for the gate at 3 pm today”. It acts within your permissions.
While filling add-camera, people, or recording settings, you can say address, name, path, segment length, or disk usage; the assistant writes into the current form. Review, then say “save”.
The same kind of request to the help agent in another module uses the same operations.

How to open
- Select a workspace in the top bar
- Apps → Camera
The first time an admin opens it, plugin notes sync to workspace knowledge.
Notes when adding a camera
After save, tap Test connect; reading the device name means commands work. Opening Live and seeing video means the live stream works. A green “online” dot means recognition results are pushing to this machine. Recording to disk starts after save; after a minute or two, Playback should show it. Recording defaults to the workspace directory; admins on Cameras can Browse a local folder, or fill e.g. D:\camera-recordings, and set segment length, retention days, and disk cap. After you change location, new recordings go to the new folder; old ones stay.
The camera and this computer must be on the same LAN. The callback address is this computer’s current LAN address (e.g. http://192.168.0.141:8080), not localhost. After you change Wi-Fi, opening Camera updates it. Protocol default port 8080, live video 554. If there are never access records, refresh Camera until the green dot lights; if it still does not, set Wi-Fi from Public to Private. If Live or Playback never appear, this machine needs ffmpeg.
