Knowledge documents

Global, workspace, and personal layers. The assistant answers from what you maintain.

Knowledge documents are writing you give the assistant to read: policies, processes, project voice. After you edit, refresh the index so search catches up.

Several agents in the same workspace share the workspace layer, even if they belong to different members. Personal material stays on the user layer.

What belongs on each layer

How this differs from memory

  • Knowledge documents: writing you prepare, reusable by a team or a role.
  • Memory: preferences, decisions, and project points that settle from conversation.

Put team material in workspace knowledge. Keep personal detail in memory.

When to write knowledge

Policies new hires ask about, a department's shared voice, project background. Write who does what, in which situation, and what they get — then answers stay steady.
