From content already discussed in this conversation (plus extra requirements), the assistant generates a laid-out Excel file (.xlsx) in one pass: title bar, header fill, zebra rows, summary cards, tinted notes — and lets you pick a spreadsheet style before send.
What you can do
- You state topic and columns; the assistant generates a downloadable Excel file.
- Shares the same platform styles as presentations and Word (preview by popular, report, training, paper, formal, creative). Whichever style you pick, the title bar, headers, and summary cards use that palette — they do not snap to a fixed purple/pink/orange because the content says “annual leave / comp time / overtime”.
- A full-page report stacks summary, several detail tables, and notes on one worksheet, instead of many empty sheets.
- Fits monthly reports, grain counts, HR summaries you can open and read.
- Spreadsheet layouts you made can go to the Asset library; after publish they appear under Workspace styles.
How to use
- In
Messagesselect a work agent (Office document tools must be enabled). - Tap Make a spreadsheet above the composer and pick a style. If you already discussed what to write, send as-is; for only certain detail tables or a different title, add that after.
- A brand-new conversation with nothing to write yet: add title, period, which sections (summary numbers, detail tables, notes).
- After generate, open
.xlsxfrom the download link. Regenerating with another platform style should change colors (forest-green is dark green; corporate blue is blue).
Example:
Make a July annual-leave / comp-time analysis sheet in forest-green monthly: monthly summary cards first, then two detail tables for annual leave / comp time, then three analysis points. Put them on the same sheet.
Where styles come from
Two kinds:
- Platform styles: in-house color and layout, commercially usable.
- Workspace styles: you or a colleague upload a
.xlsxto the Asset library (type Spreadsheet style) and publish; it then appears under Make a spreadsheet. Applying generates a new file and does not change the library original. Blank fill-in forms still use Spreadsheet template.
Common issues
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| You picked forest-green monthly but cards are purple, pink, orange | Older versions hard-coded colors from “annual leave / comp time / overtime”. Colors now follow the style you picked — generate again. |
| You changed style but table colors barely changed | Confirm the composer shows the style name you just picked, and have the assistant regenerate — do not recolor the previous file. |
| Workspace styles missing your sheet | In the asset library set type to Spreadsheet style and Publish. |
